Who sends them
BuildThread is an app that home-improvement contractors use to share estimates, project updates, and change approvals with their clients. When your contractor uses BuildThread for your job, BuildThread texts you about that job on their behalf.
What we text you
- An invitation to follow your project.
- An estimate, or an updated estimate, with a link to view, accept, or decline it.
- A request to approve added work and its price, with a link to review and sign.
Each text is sent because your contractor took that step on your job. We don't send marketing or promotional texts.
How you agree to get them
You give your mobile number to your contractor and tell them you agree to get texts from BuildThread about your job. Before BuildThread sends any text, your contractor has to confirm in the app that you agreed. They see this notice and tick a box that starts unticked:
My client agreed to get texts from BuildThread about this job at (555) 555-0123.
BuildThread texts them for you: invites, estimates, and approval requests for this job. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. They can reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.
Agreeing to texts is optional. It isn't a condition of hiring your contractor, of any purchase, or of using BuildThread. If you don't agree, your contractor leaves the box unticked, we never text you, and your contractor can send you links themselves.
BuildThread records who confirmed it, for which number, and when. We never text a number without that confirmation.
The details
- How often: message frequency varies with your job, usually a few texts per project.
- Cost: message and data rates may apply.
- To stop: reply STOP at any time. You'll get one text confirming it, and no more texts from BuildThread. Reply START to get them again.
- For help: reply HELP, or email [email protected].
- Carriers aren't liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Your phone number and privacy
We use your mobile number to send you these texts and to let you sign in to see your project. It's shared only with your contractor (who gave it to us) and with our text message provider, only to deliver the messages.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third parties, except the provider that delivers the messages.
